ICA also organizes sport’s events that allow our community children and adults to participate and compete. This interaction allows for networking and sharing of community news and brings us all together. Events like Carrom, Table Tennis, Tennis, Badminton are all very popular with the Portland Indian population.

The primary objective of this association is to provide a forum for our community to participate in cultural activities. Hosting cultural events provides the added benefit of sharing our culture with Oregonians.

In the last 24 years ICA has hosted diverse and interesting events including: Visa services, Friendship Dinner, Diwali Dussera Celebration, Holi Celebration, New Year’s Party, Various classical dance shows, Miss Oregon pageant, Picnics, Sport’s events, Spelling Bee, Essay competition and many other activities.

As the Portland population from the Indian subcontinent grows, the role ICA plays in the Portland area will continue to be of great importance. Our children will look up to an organization like ICA to provide them the opportunity to learn our culture and share it with the local community.
