India Festival 2009 was a grand success. The event attracted large crowds and the square was full early afternoon. Our entertainment program was the talk of the show with performances that brought the audience to their feet. Children dressed up in colorful costumes performed in front of supportive crowds, adults performed a variety of dances both modern and traditional, singers, sitarists, you name it … we had a very diverse and successful program. The square decorations with hundreds of balloons added color to this festive occasion. The food was excellent. All vendors had positive and supportive comments for this year’s festival. A representative from the Governor’s office presented a declaration commemorating the occasion. Our cultural booth was busy throughout the day as we continue to share our culture with others in Oregon.
ICA acknowledges the hard work of all volunteers that made this show possible. We also want to acknowledge all our vendors who helped finance this program. Lastly we are grateful to RACC for continuing to provide grants for this festival.
